Prime Minister Emphasizes Wearing Seat Belts Amid Political Speculations

Bangkok: The Prime Minister addressed questions about potential political upheavals, urging the importance of wearing seat belts. When questioned on December 12th about possible political incidents, he firmly denied such occurrences, specifically after the Pheu Thai Party’s decision not to file a censure motion. The Prime Minister emphasized his ongoing dedication to his duties and mentioned that he had not engaged in conversations with the Pheu Thai Party leadership.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul was asked about the likelihood of political disturbances on December 12, 2025, and whether it was prudent to metaphorically ‘wear seat belts.’ In response, he reiterated his continuous commitment to his role and readiness to manage any challenges that might arise.

When the discussion turned to the Pheu Thai Party’s choice not to pursue a no-confidence motion, Mr. Anutin dismissed the notion that he had any discussions with them about the matter. He assured that he is actively performing his duties and preparing for all eventualities.

Reporters inquired further about the implications of the no-confidence motion’s absence, suggesting it might allow the government to maintain power until January 31, 2026. Mr. Anutin confirmed that the government would indeed remain in power until that date.

In the event that the Pheu Thai Party decides to submit a no-confidence motion, Mr. Anutin affirmed that any such motion would be addressed following constitutional guidelines and established procedures.
