Bangkok: The Prime Minister has mandated comprehensive facilitation of services for the public, emphasizing that disabled individuals, bedridden patients, and the elderly who possess the state welfare card can authorize others to verify their identity and exercise their rights on their behalf.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that individuals meeting the eligibility criteria for the 2026 State Welfare Registration Project must complete the e-KYC verification process. This process is available through the Paotang application and at registration centers of five banks: Krung Thai Bank, Government Savings Bank, Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), Government Housing Bank (GHB), and Islamic Bank of Thailand. The verification period spans from July 17, 2026, to January 12, 2027.

For those who qualify for the welfare project but are unable to verify their identity in person, such as the elderly, bedridden patients, or disabled individuals, an authorized representative must perform the verification at one of the designated banks. Required documents include a Power of Attorney form, national ID cards of both the authorizing person and the representative, and a disability identification card or medical certificate if applicable.

The Prime Minister has urged government officials and the involved banks to ensure the public faces no inconvenience during the process. Emphasizing the need for support, he instructed that government officials should assist the public rather than leaving them to manage independently. Information about the welfare project is available through the Ministry of Finance's official channels or the State Welfare Card Customer Relations Center during business hours.
