Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra Prepares for Censure Debate with Support from Thaksin

Bangkok: Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra arrived at the House of Representatives early in the morning, where she was met by a large number of Pheu Thai Party cabinet members. She expressed confidence and readiness ahead of her first censure debate, with assurance from former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

According to Thai News Agency, Thaksin Shinawatra, a former Prime Minister, has been tutoring Paethongtarn to help her prepare for the censure debate. Paethongtarn shared that Thaksin visited her home recently, where they discussed various debate topics, including economic issues. She mentioned that Thaksin is available for support and encouragement, emphasizing his readiness to assist whenever needed.

Paethongtarn stated that she is confident in her preparation for the debate, having gathered complete data and numbers to address any questions that may arise. She also addressed potential issues involving the Shinawatra family, assuring that she would provide appropriate answers if necessary.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the opposition’s rumored ‘salt-sprinkling strategy’ following the debate, stating that she remains untroubled and will respond as needed. She also addressed speculation about Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm Yubamrung potentially participating in the debate using the opposition quota of the Palang Pracharath Party, expressing doubt about his involvement.

Regarding Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, the leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, giving his first debate, Paethongtarn deflected the question about excitement, suggesting that it should be directed at Gen. Prawit himself.
