Prime Minister to Launch MotoGP 2026 in Buriram, Aiming for Thailand’s Motorsport Hub Status

Buriram: The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the MotoGP 2026 event, with an ambition to establish Thailand as a "motorsport hub" in the region. The Prime Minister, along with Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, his spouse Ms. Thanon Nirami, Deputy Prime Minister Sophon Saram, and other notable officials, will be in attendance to mark this significant occasion.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister and his entourage will travel from Wing 6 to Buriram Province for the opening ceremony of the 'PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2026' at the Buriram International Circuit. This event signifies Thailand hosting the MotoGP for the seventh consecutive year, and it will be the first race of the 2026 season. The MotoGP 2026 season is scheduled from February 27th to March 1st, with Thailand also hosting the official pre-season test from February 21st to 22nd. This highlights Thailand's continued dedication to solidifying its position as a regional motorsports hub.
