Koh tao: PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTT EP) has unveiled an ambitious initiative to conserve Thailand’s marine environment. The company has launched the “Ocean for Life” underwater sculpture project off the coast of Koh Tao in Surat Thani province. This project aims to create an artificial coral reef and establish a new diving site, with the goal of restoring the underwater ecosystem, promoting ecotourism, and generating sustainable income for the local community.
According to Thai News Agency, the “Ocean for Life” project is part of PTT EP’s ongoing efforts to address environmental challenges and support marine conservation in the region. By creating new habitats for marine life, the project not only contributes to the preservation of biodiversity but also enhances the attractiveness of Koh Tao as a destination for divers and tourists.
The initiative is expected to benefit both the environment and the local economy, as the artificial coral reef will serve as a breeding ground for various marine species while attracting ecotourists to the area. The project reflects PTT EP’s commitment to sustainable development and its role in supporting Thailand’s environmental conservation goals.
