Bangkok: The "Rak Chart Party" has formally requested the Ministry of Culture to adopt a proactive communication strategy to promote Thai culture on an international platform. This demand was articulated in a letter that critiqued Cambodia for allegedly misappropriating cultural evidence.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phum Sawasdee, representing the Rak Chart Party, delivered the letter to Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, the Minister of Culture, through Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, who accepted it on her behalf. Mr. Phum emphasized the need for the Thai government to actively communicate the country's cultural heritage, as neighboring countries are reportedly attempting to claim it without sufficient historical backing, despite UNESCO's registration of Thai culture as a World Heritage Site.

Furthermore, Mr. Phum advocated for governmental support in empowering the private sector to develop entertainment initiatives that would globally showcase Thai culture. He also proposed engaging Cambodia in English, urging a mutual respect for shared cultural values and discouraging claims based on insubstantial evidence.

Mr. Paradorn expressed his gratitude towards the Rak Chart Party for their continued political engagement and constructive contributions to national interests post-election. He assured that the letter would be escalated to the Minister of Culture for further deliberation and action.
