Bangkok: TMB Thanachart Bank Public Company Limited (TTB) has announced that Mr. Rapee Sucharitkul will assume the role of Chairman of the Bank, starting on May 1, 2026. He will be the first independent director to hold this position, in line with the bank's goal of enhancing its corporate governance to meet international standards and align with other major organizations in the industry.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Rapee is a distinguished expert with profound knowledge and experience in governance, corporate governance, money markets, capital markets, financial institutions, and international investment. His career includes significant roles in national regulatory bodies such as the Bank of Thailand, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Office of the Insurance Commission. He has also served as Chairman of the Thai Institute of Directors Association, where he contributed to the advancement of corporate governance practices in Thailand's capital market.

The decision to appoint an independent director as Chairman underscores TTB's dedication to operating within a robust governance framework, considering the interests of various stakeholders, including shareholders, investors, customers, and society.
