Sa kaeo: Paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of three soldiers who lost their lives in the Battle of Ban Nong Chan, a main road in the area has been renamed in their honor. The Eastern Command has renamed the road "Nak Thong Dee Sorn Pradit Phol Yiam" to recognize their ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
According to Thai News Agency, on February 19, 2026, Task Force 12 of the Eastern Command installed a road sign in Nong Chan Village, Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province. The sign bears the names 'Nakthongdee - Sorpradit - Pholyiam' as a tribute to the heroism of Sergeant Major Pongsakorn Nakthongdee, Private Patipat Sorpradit, and Private Thiwatawan Pholyiam, all from the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment. These soldiers died on December 26, 2025, while defending Thai sovereignty during the Thai-Cambodian conflict in Nong Chan Village.
This gesture serves as a memorial to their sacrifice in defending Thai territory. It inscribes the names of these heroes at a historical site, serving as a reminder to future generations of troops and the public of the importance and duty of protecting Thai land bravely and selflessly.
