Nongyai: The road leading up to "Khao Raberd" (Exploding Mountain) has been temporarily closed due to a surge of people driving cars and motorcycles up to test their performance and film content. Concerns have been raised about accidents due to the narrow, steep, and winding nature of the road, making it difficult to control vehicles.

According to Thai News Agency, this is just a small sample of the many people who flocked to test their driving skills and the performance of their vehicles on the challenging mountain road. There were cars and motorcycles, but the narrow, steep, and winding road made it difficult to control the vehicles. Some cars slid off the road, and some even overturned, resulting in injuries and extensive damage to the vehicles.

Today, local agencies including the district chief, police, representatives from the paragliding association, forestry officials, and Nongyai Subdistrict Municipality held a joint meeting for over two hours. Ultimately, they agreed to temporarily close the access route to "Khao Raberd" to prevent unauthorized use and reduce the risk of accidents, as numerous accidents have occurred there in the past.

Officials emphasized that this route is not a public road, but a designated path specifically for air sports training, including paragliding, and warned that anyone wishing to enter the area must obtain permission beforehand.

After the meeting, police, forestry officials, and representatives from the paragliding association immediately went to the area to block the mountain path, locking it with padlocks. Any violation will be considered trespassing and will be prosecuted according to the law.

Some locals interviewed said that in the past, groups of teenagers would often go up there to create content, revving their engines and making loud noises that disturbed the community. They really want this road permanently closed, because previously, officials had locked the road, but groups managed to break open the gate with rocks. Some are still trying to fork their way up the road from the sides. They urge the relevant authorities to take decisive action and enforce the law seriously to prevent anyone from creating content that causes trouble for the community again.
