Royal Navy Mobilizes Helicopters and Boats for Disaster Relief Efforts

Chonburi: Personnel transport lunch boxes, relief bags, and doctors by helicopter to assist with emergency cases. Crew members of the Chakri Naruebet Royal Navy transported royal lunch boxes, relief bags, and a medical team aboard two helicopters, focusing on emergency cases and preparing to transport patients to Hat Yai Hospital.

According to Thai News Agency, at 8:30 a.m. on November 27, 2015, at the Chakri Naruebet, Vice Admiral Thepparit Lapluea, Commander of the Second Naval Area Command, attended a meeting to plan assistance for disaster victims. Officials also carried 1,000 royal breakfast boxes, consisting of stir-fried pumpkin with eggs and fried chicken, aboard two helicopters, along with a medical team and medical equipment.

For the Royal Kitchen of the Chakri Naruebet, the Royal Thai Navy will prepare 1,000 boxes of cooked food per meal, totaling 3 meals, 3,000 boxes per day, according to the capacity of the kitchen. For air assistance, officials will focus on emergency situations and will rush to Hat Yai Hospital.

On the other hand, officials have prepared over 12 flat-bottomed boats for the Navy’s urgent missions: 1. Transport food, drinking water, and relief supplies to people trapped in hard-to-reach disaster areas; 2. Move and evacuate people from critical areas where safety risks exist; 3. Support local agencies in initial recovery efforts; and 4. Evacuate damaged areas, particularly the first two, which must be addressed immediately.
