Royal Thai Army Boosts Security with 100 Donated Drones

Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army has bolstered its defense capabilities with the acquisition of 100 Thai-made drones, generously donated by the Yamfaoland Foundation. These unmanned aerial vehicles are intended to enhance security efforts, particularly along the Thai-Cambodian border.

According to Thai News Agency, the donation was formalized at a ceremony held at the Royal Thai Army Headquarters. Mr. Panthep Puapongphan, Chairman of the Yam Fao Phaendin Foundation, presented the drones, which are valued at a total of 19 million baht. The handover was attended by Lieutenant General Wirayut Raksin, Commander of the 2nd Army Area, who accepted the drones on behalf of the army. The event was also witnessed by Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, former Commander of the 2nd Army Area and current advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army.

Lt. Gen. Boonsin expressed the army’s gratitude towards the Yamfaoland Foundation, acknowledging their continuous support and contributions to national security. He noted that this donation is part of an ongoing partnership that has significantly enhanced the army’s security and technical capabilities. The equipment was received by the Second Army Region Commander and the Director of the Signals Department, who will oversee its integration and further modernization to strengthen the nation’s defense infrastructure.
