Bangkok: The Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) organized an exhibition and seminar to provide knowledge to cadets at the Royal Thai Army Club. This event was held to commemorate the World War I Volunteer Soldiers’ Memorial Day, with the aim of instilling a sense of patriotism and honoring the sacrifices made by Thai ancestors.
According to Thai News Agency, General Kantana Nikornyanon, Director of the War Veterans Organization of Thailand (WVO), presided over the opening ceremony. The event featured a seminar designed to educate military cadets on the significance of World War I Memorial Day 2025. The event was attended by WVO executives, representatives from relevant agencies, network partners, qualified speakers, and military cadets who participated in lectures and explored various exhibitions.
Key activities at the event included lectures on the history of World War I delivered by experts in war history. Additionally, a ceremony was held to honor soldiers who died in the Thai-Cambodian border dispute. Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army and former Commander of the 2nd Army Area, conducted a seminar on “The Honor of Thai Soldiers” for military students.
The exhibition showcased the history of World War I with contributions from the National Defense Studies Institute, Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, Royal Thai Army Operations Department, Royal Thai Air Force Secretariat Department, and the Historical Reenactment Group. The event aimed to educate the nation’s youth about the history and origins of World War I and to instill in them the heroism, bravery, and sacrifice of Thai ancestors who defended the nation’s sovereignty for future generations.
