Russian Siblings Missing in Chonburi, Suspects Flee Checkpoint

Chonburi: There is still no sign of the two missing Russian siblings, Diana, 22, and Roman, 17, who disappeared from their home in Huai Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. According to Thai News Agency, the siblings vanished in the early hours of July 26th, along with their Honda ADV 150 motorcycle. Over 100 rescue workers have been mobilized by Pattaya's Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue foundation, which has established a command center to receive tips and continue the search. The dismantled and buried remains of the motorcycle have been found, but there is no clear clue to the siblings' location.

Authorities are also focused on tracking down Mr. Pong and Mr. Thong, who are wanted on warrants for jointly committing theft at night using a vehicle and receiving stolen goods. Police believe they have evidence linking the pair to the burial of the missing motorcycle. Although initial reports suggested their arrest, confirmation from authorities indicates that neither suspect has been apprehended.

Latest reports revealed that at 1:08 PM yesterday, authorities detected movement of Mr. Pong and Mr. Thong in Makham District, Chanthaburi Province, before they headed towards Sa Kaeo Province. Later, at approximately 1:00 AM, both suspects evaded capture at a checkpoint in Soi Dao District, Chanthaburi Province. A motorcycle, driven by individuals wearing police-like attire, sped through the checkpoint, making it impossible for authorities to apprehend them.

Officials identified the two individuals as Mr. Pong and Mr. Thong. It is suspected that a white plastic bag seen in CCTV footage from Bang Lamung district may have contained clothing or equipment resembling police uniforms, aiding their escape. This matter remains under investigation for further verification.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hoy and Mr. Phang, who are suspected of assisting Mr. Pong and Mr. Thong in their escape, have been questioned and released without charges. They initially denied knowledge of the suspects. The investigation continues as authorities seek to gather more information and locate the missing siblings.
