According to Thai News Agency, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round, Spain's Atletico Madrid took the lead 1-0 through Alexander S¸rloth in the 23rd minute, before the visitors equalized with a close-range header from Joel Ordonez in the 36th minute.

In the 48th minute of the second half, Atl©tico Madrid took a 2-1 lead through Jonny Cardozo. Alexander S¸rloth then added two more goals, completing a hat-trick in the 76th and 87th minutes, helping Atl©tico Madrid to a 4-1 home victory over Club Brugge (7-4 on aggregate) and securing their place in the round of 16.

After the game, Diogo Simeone, the Atletico Madrid manager, revealed that he was very happy with the improved performance and praised his team for their hard work, especially Alexander S¸rloth who scored a hat-trick in this game, and hoped he would maintain this consistency.
