Samsung C and T Corp. on Wednesday reported its second-quarter net income of 734 billion won (US$533.2 million), up 5.7 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit for the April-June period was 900.4 billion won, up 16.6 percent from a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing. Sales rose 4 percent to 11 trillion won. The earnings exceeded market expectations.
