SCG Vessel Successfully Passes Through the Strait of Hormuz

Bangkok: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that one SCG vessel has navigated through the Strait of Hormuz. This development came after Prime Minister Sihasak sought assistance from Oman to coordinate with Iran regarding the passage.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided details of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkaew's official visit to Oman from April 15-17. The visit aimed to bolster Thai-Omani relations and included a request for Oman to mediate with Iran for support concerning Thai ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Ministry indicated that they were informed by Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SCG) about the passage of one of their vessels through the strait. This vessel was one of two for which the Ministry had previously sought Iranian assistance. The Ministry has committed to monitoring the situation and will provide further updates on the vessel's arrival in Thailand and the ongoing efforts to aid other Thai vessels still in the strait.
