While a news team visited the border area in Ban Kruat District, Buriram Province, to survey the reaction of villagers along the border following the incident, they unanimously expressed their disapproval of the situation. This incident marked the seventh case of a frontline soldier losing a limb due to indecisiveness. They urged the Prime Minister to take serious and decisive actions in retaliation against Cambodia. The villagers emphasized that if the Thai government remains weak and ineffective, it could encourage further incidents. They expressed readiness to evacuate the area to allow soldiers to perform their duties effectively and have already begun preparations for potential evacuation.
