Sedan Engulfed in Flames After Crash in Lopburi Province

Lopburi: A dramatic rescue unfolded late last night after a sedan veered off course and crashed into a median on Phahonyothin 1 Road near Nong Khu village in the Huai Pong subdistrict of Khok Samrong district, Lopburi province. The vehicle, a Toyota Vios, burst into flames upon impact, but thanks to the quick actions of Good Samaritans, the occupants were saved just in time.

According to Thai News Agency, police from Khok Samrong Police Station were alerted to the accident and coordinated with the fire department to dispatch officers to the scene. When firefighters arrived, they found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, which they swiftly extinguished. The car was completely destroyed, but fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities found inside.

Three individuals, two men aged 42 and 43 and a woman aged 31, had already been rescued and taken to a hospital by Good Samaritans before the authorities arrived. Although all three sustained injuries, they were unable to provide statements at the time.

Further investigations revealed that the sedan was traveling from Mueang District towards Khok Samrong District when it lost control at the median strip designated for U-turns. The car skidded for over 10 meters underneath the strip, possibly triggering a spark that ignited the gasoline. Police suspect heavy intoxication played a role in the accident, as they noted a strong smell of alcohol when checking the injured individuals.
