Phetchabun: A sedan lost power while climbing a steep slope at Phu Thap Boek, flipped over, and fell down the hillside, resulting in injuries to four people.
According to Thai News Agency, the vehicle, a black Toyota Yaris with Bangkok license plates, was attempting to ascend the challenging Phu Thap Boek mountain pass to reach a resort when the incident occurred. The car, unfamiliar with the treacherous road, lost power and rolled backward, flipping over several times before coming to rest on the hillside.
The Sawang Mongkol Sathan Thammasathan rescue unit was alerted to the accident near the entrance to a resort along Highway 2331 (Cho Ho - Phu Thap Boek) and promptly dispatched a team to the location. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the sedan overturned with its wheels pointing skyward and immediately began administering first aid to the injured occupants. The four individuals inside the vehicle were subsequently transported to Somdej Phra Yuparat Lom Kao Hospital for further treatment.
The driver, upon questioning, explained that he was on his way to a resort but was unfamiliar with the steep terrain. The car lost power midway up the hill, which led to the vehicle rolling backward and overturning multiple times before it fell down the hillside. This incident underscores the challenges faced by drivers unfamiliar with steep and treacherous mountain roads.
