“Sergeant Pichit and Dr. Win” Plead Not Guilty in Local Government Exam Corruption Case

Bangkok: Regarding the progress of the local government exam fraud case, both "Sergeant Pichit and Dr. Win," who are accused of being key figures in the cheating scheme, continue to deny all charges.

According to Thai News Agency, police brought Mr. Pichit and Mr. Aswin, or Dr. Win, in for further questioning before their detention at the Criminal Court. Yesterday, police took Dr. Win to search his office in Pak Kret. During the search, officers attempted to find information linking him to the local government exam fraud ring, but were unsuccessful because some files had been deleted due to their age. Therefore, they are continuing their investigation with Mr. Pichit, who denies all charges, but police have evidence suggesting he may have committed some wrongdoings.

As for Sergeant Pichit, he appeared very stressed after surrendering to the police because he believed that by presenting himself to the police, he would be granted bail. He had prepared cash collateral to submit for bail at the investigative stage. Meanwhile, Ms. Sataporn, the other suspect accused of sending the hard drive containing the altered local exam files, was remanded in custody yesterday, but the court denied her bail, and she was immediately sent to prison.
