Set up a committee to investigate the gambling expert’s complaint that the police raided and forced him to extort 800,000 baht.

The Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 3 has set up a fact-finding committee to investigate the case of a gambling guru who complained that the police had arrested him and extorted 800,000 baht, and will also investigate the financial trail of the arresting police. The Superintendent of Lat Krabang Police Station insists that his subordinates performed their duties honestly and without any deviance. In the case of a 37-year-old woman who asked for help from lawyer Rachapol Sirisakor because she went to gamble at a house in Lat Krabang area, but was forced by the arresting police to transfer 800,000 baht to the homeowner, claiming that it was a mediation to avoid further legal action. Latest developments, Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiattikun Sonthine, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 3 (Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 3), along with Pol. Col. Somkid Prachuensuk, Superintendent of Lat Krabang Metropolitan Police Station (Superintendent of Lat Krabang Police Station), held a press conference to clarify that previously, the homeowner and his daughter had filed a report at Lat Krabang Police Station on June 10, stating that at approximately 2:00 p.m., there would be gambling at a house in the Lat Krabang area. If gambling really took place, the police would be notified to make an arrest. Later, Lat Krabang Police Station was notified that gambling had actually occurred as recorded in the daily log. Then, at approximately 2:20 PM, Lat Krabang Police Station officers arrested 7 suspects along with evidence on charges of jointly gambling and illegal gambling for property. They were sent to the investigation officer for prosecution. All suspects confessed before being sent to court for prosecution, and the court has already issued a verdict. That is why the police did not arrest the homeowner and his daughter because they were undercover and were informants who signaled the police to make the arrest. On the day of the arrest, there were only 7 officers from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Division o f Lat Krabang Police Station, not 30-40 officers as claimed by the victim. As for the behavior of the homeowner who previously gambled or not, permission must be requested to investigate again, including the matter of 800,000 baht, which I personally believe is unlikely because it has been forwarded for legal proceedings according to the process. At the same time, it is confirmed that the evidence seized is the central fund of 700 baht, not 200,000 baht, which must be investigated for facts, and it is confirmed that the victim has never met the director in any way, including the police lieutenant who is the head of the arresting team, is not a relative of the homeowner as the victim claimed. Pol. Lt. Col. Kiattikul further explained that initially, the Metropolitan Police Division 3 had set up a fact-finding committee that appeared in the media and assigned Pol. Col. Khosit Boonthawi, deputy commander of the Metropolitan Police Division 3, to investigate the facts as soon as possible. As for the initial co mplaints, we will listen to those who filed complaints through the media. We will follow up with all 7 arrested people for questioning to see if they really did what they were accused of. Because today we have not heard from the homeowner, all those involved, and those at the scene, including all the details from the arresting police officers. At the same time, we have ordered an investigation into the financial paths of the 7 police officers to make it clear that they were not involved. One of the arresting police officers reported that regarding the 800,000 baht that the victim claimed the police had extorted, the homeowner had previously filed a police report stating that the seven victims had colluded to defraud her. He had advised her that the case could be negotiated and settled, which made the victim worried that she would be prosecuted, so she transferred all of her money to the homeowner because she was worried that she would be prosecuted further. In addition, there is information that the 7 victi ms are a gang that travels around to cheat bookies and gamblers in each area. The 7 people know each other and plan to cheat gambling all the time. Then they will take the money and divide it. The leaders of this gang are a married couple. Source: Thai News Agency
