Severe Flooding Forces Rayong Residents to Sleep on Floating Mattresses

Rayong:Severe flooding in Rayong province has left residents grappling with difficult living conditions. Among those affected is a male undertaker who has resorted to sleeping on a floating mattress outside his home due to the high water levels.

According to Thai News Agency, the flooding has persisted for four to five days in Moo 4, Ban Na Subdistrict, Klaeng District. The situation has significantly impacted the local community, including Mr. O Phakdeengam, a gravedigger at Nong Chara Khe Temple. Faced with rising floodwaters, Mr. O has been forced to sleep and rest on a floating mattress outside his flooded house.

The flooding, described by Mr. O as the most severe in many years, has caused extensive damage to household items. His refrigerator, TV, fan, rice cooker, and wardrobe have all been ruined, along with seven sacks of rice that were stockpiled. Despite the challenges, Mr. O and his family are adapting to the situation by sleeping on floating mattresses to cope with the ongoing flood conditions.
