Simultaneous Ordination Ceremonies Scheduled in Bangkok to Honor Princess Bajrakitiyabha

Bangkok: The ordination project under the patronage of the Supreme Patriarch, dedicated to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavadi, is set to conduct simultaneous ordination ceremonies on June 14, 2026. These ceremonies will be held at Wat Rajapradit Sathit Mahasimararam, Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Wat Thepsirin Thrawas, and Wat Buranasirimatyaram in Bangkok, with lay representatives from each temple presiding over the events.

According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Yupapha Thawiwattanakitbaworn, Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, will preside over the ordination ceremony at Wat Ratchapradit Sathit Mahasimararam at 1:00 PM, where twelve novices from the program will be ordained. Meanwhile, at 2:30 PM, Ms. Chuencheewan Limptherakul, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, will take on the role of lay representative for the ceremony at Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, overseeing the ordination of 30 novices.

At Wat Thepsirin, Mr. Nopporn Boonkaew, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, will preside at 1:30 PM, where another group of 30 novices will be ordained. Similarly, at 1:00 PM, Mr. Phikhanet Tapuang, Chief Inspector of the Prime Minister's Office, will lead the ceremony at Wat Buranasirimatyaram, with 28 novices participating.

The project aims to offer merit to His Majesty the King and commemorate his compassion. It also provides participants with an opportunity to study Buddhist doctrines, practice self-discipline in line with Buddhist principles, and apply these teachings for the community's benefit. The monks from the program will engage in studying Buddhist scriptures and practicing meditation until their scheduled disrobing on June 29, 2026.
