Bangkok: Sira Jenjaka, a former Bangkok MP of the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP), has been released from prison after serving his sentence related to storming a COVID-19 field hospital. On June 18, 2025, the Don Mueang District Court issued a Supreme Court ruling in case number 594/2564, where Mongkutwattana Hospital Co., Ltd., represented by Major General Dr. Riangthong Naennhana, Director of Mongkutwattana Hospital, sued Mr. Sira for defamation by publication and trespassing. The incident occurred on May 7, 2021, when Mr. Sira and others trespassed onto the construction site of Mongkutwattana Hospital and made defamatory statements.

According to Thai News Agency, the court found Mr. Sira guilty of multiple offenses, sentencing him to a total of 16 months imprisonment for five counts of defamation and trespassing. Despite appeals, the final verdict resulted in a six-month and 20-day sentence without suspension. Mr. Yutthana Nakruangsri, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Corrections, disclosed that Mr. Sira had another pending conviction for defamation by publication, which is currently under appeal. This case carries an eight-month sentence, pending further legal proceedings.

Following his release on January 4, 2026, Mr. Sira celebrated his 62nd birthday with his wife, Mrs. Saralrasmi Jenjaka, also known as Madam Lee, and their son at their family restaurant, "Krua Ruean Thai," in Bangkok. The gathering was noted for its joyful and warm atmosphere, with friends and family welcoming Mr. Sira back home.
