Sisaket Villagers Maintain Vigilance Amid Ceasefire Hopes

Sisaket: Villagers along the border in Sisaket province remain vigilant, hoping for the 72-hour ceasefire to complete, while sending encouragement to the soldiers, stating that the situation is uncertain.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai-Cambodian border in Sisaket province remains under close monitoring this morning, amidst hopes of a 72-hour temporary ceasefire. One of those affected is Mr. Sawean, a villager from Kantaralak district whose house was completely destroyed by a BM-21 rocket fired from Cambodia on December 22nd. He said he was saddened by the loss but remained undeterred, vowing to reopen his barbershop and awaiting government compensation. He also sent words of encouragement to the soldiers, stating that even after the 72-hour ceasefire, the situation remains uncertain and urging the military to "resolve the situation" to prevent recurring unrest.

Regarding the atmosphere in the area last night, no movement of unmanned aerial vehicles or drones was detected in the sky over Phu Makheua, unlike the previous night.
