Social Security Board Election Set for September 27, 2026

Bangkok: "Chulaphan" has confirmed that the Social Security Board election will be held on September 27, 2026, under the same rules and format as previous elections. Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, revealed the progress via his personal Facebook page, indicating that the current representatives, whose terms have expired and are serving in an acting capacity, have been informed by the Election Committee for employer and employee representatives of the Social Security Office about the set election date.

According to Thai News Agency, the election is in line with the Ministry of Labour's regulations on the criteria and methods for electing employer and employee representatives to the Social Security Board, B.E. 2564 (2021). To promote public participation, the voter registration period is extended to 45 days, and polling stations will be established at the district level, in addition to those at the provincial level.

Both insured persons and employers are encouraged to register to vote or run for election. Registration to vote is essential to retain the right to elect representatives who oversee benefits and funds. Employers and insured persons under Sections 33, 39, and 40 can register from June 1st to July 15th, 2026, through the website www.sso.go.th, the SSO Plus application, or at Social Security Offices during specified hours.

The list of eligible voters will be announced on August 10, 2026. Those interested in applying to be a Board Representative can do so from July 1st to 15th, 2026, at designated Social Security Offices. The list of applicants and their identification numbers will be published on August 19, 2026.
