Social Security Office Extends Contribution Deadlines to Support Flood-Affected Provinces

Bangkok: Social Security increases assistance, extends contribution period by 6 months, reducing burden on employers and workers in 9 southern flood-affected provinces. Ms. Kanchana Poolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, revealed that due to the severe flooding that has affected people and businesses in many areas of the South, the Social Security Committee on December 2, 2025, resolved to approve urgent relief measures to alleviate the burden on employers and insured persons under Sections 33 and 39 in the affected areas, a total of 9 provinces.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Kanchana stated that the Social Security Office, recognizing the hardship faced by businesses and workers in affected areas, has proposed extending the deadline for submitting contribution forms and remitting contributions for six months to allow insured persons and employers time to adjust and rehabilitate their businesses without further financial burdens. The provinces affected by the disaster and eligible for waivers include Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Pattani, Phatthalung, Yala, Songkhla, Satun, and Surat Thani. The new deadlines for submitting and remitting contributions are as follows:

– Salary for the month of November 2025, submit the contribution form and send the contribution within 15 June 2026.

– Wages for the December 2025 period, submit the contribution form and send the contribution within 15 July 2026.

– Wages for the January 2026 period, submit the contribution form and send the contribution within 15 August 2026.

– Wages for the February 2026 period, submit the contribution form and send the contribution within 15 September 2026.

– Wages for the March 2026 period, submit the contribution form and send the contribution within 15 October 2026.

– Wages for the April 2026 period, submit the contribution form and send the contribution within 15 November 2026.

The Secretary-General of the Social Security Office added that the Social Security Board’s resolution aims to mitigate the economic impact on businesses and workers in disaster areas. He confirmed that the Social Security Office will carefully consider the Board’s observations and recommendations to ensure the most comprehensive and appropriate assistance.
