Bangkok: Somchai Srisutthiyakorn has publicly refuted allegations by the Election Commission that accuse him of obstructing the by-election in Khan Na Yao. Somchai insists that on the day in question, he was cycling on Koh Kret from morning until evening.

According to Thai News Agency, Somchai responded to the charges in a Facebook post titled "Where are you going with this? - Somchai Srisutthiyakorn." He expressed disbelief at the accusations, which were filed against him for allegedly obstructing the Election Commission's duties on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Somchai described the charges as a "knockout blow" and firmly stated that he was cycling with over 10 friends in Nonthaburi province, far from the election scene.

Somchai challenged the Election Commission to specify the exact time and place of the alleged obstruction, arguing that if the charges were untrue, they could amount to a criminal offense. He pointed out that making a false report is punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Code, and also constitutes misconduct by a public official under Section 157. Somchai's statements highlight his demand for clarity and accountability from the Election Commission regarding the allegations against him.
