She finished six back of the champion, Ayaka Furue of Japan. This was Ryu's sixth top-10 showing of this season and third at a major. She was also fifth at the Chevron Championship in April. She followed that up by tying for 51st at the U.S. Women's Open in early June before tying for ninth at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship later in June and then fifth at the Evian Champion ship. Choi Hye-jin was the only other South Korean inside the top 10, as she tied for seventh at 10-under after a final round of 70. Amy Yang, who captured the KPMG Women's PGA Championship title for her maiden major last month, remains the only South Korean winner in the LPGA this season. She tied for 63rd at the Evian Championship. Furue became the second LPGA major champion from Japan this year, joining the U.S. Women's Open champion Yuka Saso. Furue carded a 65 in the final round with six birdies, one eagle and two bogeys to hold off Stephanie Kyriacou of Australia by one stroke. Source: Yonhap News Agency
