Bangkok: The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) confirmed that the boxing training center building is over 90% complete. Dr. Kongsak Yodmani, the Governor, discussed the progress of the construction within the SAT premises. He stated that the construction has encountered no problems and is currently over 90% complete, meeting safety standards with only minor finishing touches remaining. He emphasized that the center will soon be operational, serving as a central hub for combat sports training in Asia, encompassing boxing and other combat sports. The focus will be on utilizing modern equipment and sports science to elevate the standards of combat sports. Regarding the Thai amateur boxing team, the Boxing Association of Thailand will manage their training, while other aspects will be jointly managed by a committee.
According to Thai News Agency, the construction of a world-class boxing training center, costing 608.4 million baht, involves a nine-story reinforced concrete building with one basement level, offering approximately 17,000 square meters of usable space. The project is under the responsibility of the Sports Authority of Thailand, which has signed a construction contract with China Railway No. 10 (Thailand) Co., Ltd. It is expected to be completed, handed over, and operational soon.
