Srinakharinwirot University Forms Committee to Probe Alleged Corruption in Local Government Exam

Bangkok: Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) has announced the formation of a committee to investigate allegations of corruption in the local government recruitment examinations. The university has already submitted information related to the allegations to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) for further investigation.

According to Thai News Agency, the President of SWU, Prof. Dr. Cholwit Chiarajit, stated that the university has taken proactive steps by establishing a 'Fact-Finding Committee.' This committee has been tasked with collecting all necessary information, documents, and evidence in cooperation with relevant government agencies. The university has affirmed its commitment to take legal action against any individuals found guilty of wrongdoing, ensuring accountability and adherence to the law.

The President's statement emphasized SWU's dedication to fairness and accuracy, outlining that the university would not preemptively judge any individuals involved before the investigation's findings are conclusive. The institution underlined its commitment to transparency and evidence-based operations.

In response to the circulation of online information and videos implicating the university and its president, Prof. Dr. Chiarajit confirmed the information as false. He stated that legal actions are already underway against those responsible for disseminating misinformation and making false accusations that have tarnished the university's reputation.
