Srisuwan Petitions Election Commission to Dissolve People’s Party Over IO Allegations

Bangkok: Srisuwan Janya has filed a petition with the Election Commission (EC) and the Registrar of Political Parties requesting the dissolution of the People's Party. This follows revelations by a former Bangkok MP from the People's Party regarding internal party activities, specifically the use of "IO" (Information Operations) for political maneuvering during the election. He questions whether the company, Spectre C, has party members involved, potentially constituting possession of media, and whether the collection of laser IDs of party members may violate the Constitution.

According to Thai News Agency, while Mr. Ronnarong Kaewphet submitted a petition to the Ombudsman requesting an investigation into the Election Commission regarding the inclusion of QR codes on ballots, which may violate the principle of secret balloting, he urged the public to join in petitioning the Ombudsman and requesting the Constitutional Court to make a ruling. Regarding the complaint filed against the Election Commission for malfeasance in office under Section 157 at Pak Kret Police Station, the investigating officers have accepted the complaint and taken statements, and will continue the investigation.
