Bangkok: The Vice Chairman of the Education Committee received a letter urging the government to address the liquidity problems of the Student Loan Fund (SLF), which are affecting students and parents nationwide.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Teerasak Chiratrachu, Vice Chairman of the 4th Education Committee, along with Ms. Natthaya Boonphakdee, Committee member and advisor, and Mr. Decharat Sukkamnerd, MP from the People's Party, received a letter from Mr. Plathip Pimsuwan, a first-year student, and his group. The letter demands that the government address the liquidity problems of the Student Loan Fund (SLF), including the conditions that cause a large number of students to be excluded, affecting students and parents nationwide.
Mr. Teerasak Chiratrachoo stated after receiving the letter that, in his capacity as a member of the Education Committee, he would bring the matter up for consideration in order to find solutions to the problem.
Mr. Decharat Sukkamnerd added that he will bring the matter to the People's Party's Shadow Cabinet meeting for urgent consideration, as it is currently the start of the academic year for students nationwide, before submitting it to the Cabinet for further consideration.
