Bangkok: The rescue team, consisting of three Thai crew members, has reached the "Mayuree Naree" (Thai Navy ship). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating and closely monitoring the situation.
According to Thai News Agency, a spokesperson for the Royal Thai Navy revealed that Iran and Oman have successfully reached the Mayuree Naree in rescue operations for the three Thai crew members, and are coordinating closely to monitor the situation. Meanwhile, the bodies of the Thai nationals who died in Israel arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport this afternoon.
Today, Mr. Panidol Patchimsawat, Acting Director-General of the Department of Information and Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, stating that it remains intense with continued retaliatory attacks by the main conflicting parties and attacks on Gulf Arab countries. Furthermore, US President Donald Trump announced via social media that the US will extend the delay in attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure by 10 days, until April 6th.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates that Thai citizens should leave high-risk areas as soon as possible, closely monitor news and advice from various channels, and register their location and contact information with the Royal Thai Embassy and Consulates General in their respective areas.
Regarding the progress in assisting Thai citizens in the area and other related operations, Mr. Panidol stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received news reports this morning concerning the rescue of the Thai crew members on the cargo ship Mayuree Naree and is closely monitoring and coordinating with relevant parties. Following the successful joint operation by Iran and Oman to reach the ship, the process and operations to rescue and assist the three crew members are currently underway. Regarding the repatriation of Mr. Chaiwat Waewnil's body from the explosion in Israel, the body is scheduled to arrive in Thailand today at 12:45 PM via El Al Airlines flight LY093. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Labour will be present at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv continues to remind Thais in Israel to exercise increased caution and strictly adhere to official safety measures.
