Supermoon Mesmerizes Global Spectators on Loy Krathong Night

Cologne: Last night was the full moon night of the 12th lunar month, coinciding with Loi Krathong Day in Thailand. In various other countries, a supermoon phenomenon, characterized by a large full moon, was visible in numerous regions.

According to Thai News Agency, the supermoon over Cologne Cathedral in western Germany captured significant attention from both locals and tourists. Many individuals took the opportunity to photograph the rare and stunning sight as a keepsake.

In India, the year’s brightest supermoon was prominently visible in the skies over multiple cities, attracting large crowds eager to witness the celestial event. A supermoon occurs when the full moon reaches its closest point to Earth, appearing around 7 percent larger than an average full moon. This November’s full moon is traditionally referred to as the “Beaver Moon,” a name inspired by the active behavior of beavers during this time as they build dams and store food for the winter.
