Bangkok: “Suphamas” is spearheading a transformation of Channel 9 MCOT HD and NBT, aiming to establish a new national news agency as a reliable source for the public.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, along with senior executives including Mr. Sommai Suwanwong, Acting Director-General of MCOT Public Company Limited, and Ms. Sudruthai Lertkasem, Director-General of the Public Relations Department, convened a meeting to discuss the collaboration between Channel 9 MCOT HD and NBT. The meeting focused on integrating public relations and news communication efforts to enhance the stations’ image as national media and news agencies.
In response to the challenges of media disruption caused by technological advancements and changing consumer behavior, a policy has been established to create a joint working group. This group aims to integrate human resources and equipment, adapting to the evolving media landscape. It will serve as a hub for producing factual and credible content, ensuring timely and relevant communication to the public. The initiative also focuses on increasing access to various types of information, including significant events like the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, and addressing issues such as flooding, PM2.5 dust, and border security.
Furthermore, the collaboration aims to combat fake news that affects the nation’s confidence. By doing so, the national media and news agency aspire to provide content that truly benefits viewers, contributing to the country’s sustainability.
