Bangkok: “Surawong” expressed disappointment at the absence of “Sarasnan” and “Sudarat” from the Bhumjaithai Party meeting, saying he is considering a replacement candidate.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, a Pheu Thai Party MP and deputy leader, addressed the case of Ms. Sarasnan Annonnopporn, MP for Khon Kaen, and Ms. Sudarat Phithakpornpallop, MP for Ubon Ratchathani, both Pheu Thai Party members, attending the Bhumjaithai Party’s extraordinary general meeting. He stated that, as party leader Mr. Chulphan Amornvivat had stated in an interview last week, the two individuals were indeed personnel the party regretted. However, due to their lack of clarity with the party, the situation arose. He affirmed that the two individuals respected each other in their decision, and that they no longer work with the party and will no longer be future candidates.
When asked if the party would need to call the two candidates for a meeting, Mr. Sorawong stated that they had already discussed the situation, and the outcome was as the party leader had stated in the interview. Both candidates had not provided clarity to the party, so they might have to part ways. However, he noted that both candidates are considered younger siblings and wish to pursue a successful political path. Currently, there are already candidates in both constituencies, but there are quite a few candidates. They are currently being considered, and there are no problems.
