Bangkok: Surin Province has expedited the evacuation of villagers from four border districts, following a warning issued by the Second Army Region after a clash at Chong Phu Pha Lek.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai-Cambodian border situation in Surin Province has become tense following a clash at Phu Pha Lek Pass in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, resulting in injuries to Thai soldiers. This incident has heightened the already tense atmosphere in the Thai-Cambodian border area of Surin Province, which has been affected by ongoing military confrontations between the two sides.
Recently, the Second Army Region issued an urgent letter to four provinces-Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Surin, and Buriram-advising them to evacuate residents near the border to temporary shelters for their safety. The current situation in Surin Province sees people rushing to evacuate villages in designated red zones.
