Suriya Approves 600 Million Baht to Settle Dairy Farmers’ Unpaid Fees

Bangkok: "Suriya" has approved a 600 million baht budget, aiming to expedite its submission to the Cabinet next week to address outstanding payments for raw milk to dairy farmers. Mr. Suriya Jungrungreangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, is taking decisive steps to tackle the challenges faced by dairy farmers who have been impacted by unpaid raw milk purchase fees from the Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DFPO) since October last year.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suriya recently approved the allocation of 600 million baht from the Farmer Relief Fund. This allocation is intended for the second phase of the raw milk purchase project. Meanwhile, Mr. Watcharapol Khaokham, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, disclosed that the issue has been reported to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and efforts are underway to coordinate closely with the Cabinet Secretary. Mr. Watcharapol expressed confidence that the matter will be included in the Cabinet meeting agenda on April 28th, to ensure swift liquidity relief to farmers across the nation.
