SEOUL: Suwon FC forward Anderson Oliveira has been voted the top player in South Korean football for June, becoming the second straight winner of the monthly award from his club. The Korea Professional Football League (K League) said Wednesday the Brazilian player, simply known as Anderson, beat out three candidates for the Player of the Month award for June in the top-flight K League 1. Anderson is the first foreign player to grab the monthly prize this season. Anderson's teammate, Lee Seung-woo, earned the top player honor for May. In five matches in June, Anderson had a goal and three assists. He currently leads the K League 1 with 10 assists. The winner was chosen based on votes by the K League's technical study group (accounting for 60 percent), fans voting on the K League website (25 percent) and players of EA Sports FC Online (15 percent) by Electronic Arts (EA) Sports, the league's official video game partner. Anderson earned the most support from the K League voting with 20 percent, and finished second in voting by K League fans and by EA Sports FC Online players. Source: Yonhap News Agency
