Teaching Miniature Krathong Craft to Reduce Water Waste.

Kamphaeng Phet: As the Loi Krathong festival approaches on 15 Nov., we will take you to see how to make miniature Krathongs at the Borirak Thai Center, Kamphaeng Phet Technical College. Chic and beautiful, reducing the amount of waste in water sources.

According to Thai News Agency, at the Borirak Thai Center, Kamphaeng Phet Technical College, Dr. Rungtham Sriwanthanasilp, a home economics lecturer, is leading a campaign to create tiny krathongs to minimize waste in water sources. The initiative promotes making one krathong per household and involves students, along with Miss Banana and Little Noppamas, year 2024, in the crafting process. The campaign also extends classes to the general public, offering an opportunity to learn how to craft these miniature krathongs.

The process, though challenging, requires sewing small banana leaf petals with patience and includes intricate details such as incense sticks and candle elements. Despite the difficulty, the result is a beautifully crafted, chic, small, and bri
ghtly colored krathong that is delicate yet floats just as effectively as a larger one.
