Sisaket: Two teenagers were arrested for shooting and killing one rival and injuring another while waiting to draw lots for military conscription. They claimed they were attacked first and forced to shoot in self-defense. The victim's mother vowed to pursue legal action to the fullest extent.
According to Thai News Agency, a shooting incident occurred in front of the Khukhan District Office in Sisaket Province. As a result, 21-year-old Nawakorn, or Film, was shot below his right ribcage and died at the hospital, while 15-year-old Guitar was shot in the left heel and sustained injuries. CCTV footage from a nearby market showed the perpetrators arriving on two motorcycles before committing the crime.
Following the incident, investigators from Khukhan Police Station arrested Mr. Apichol, or Big, 22, and Mr. Sarawut, or Non, 21. They confessed to using homemade shotguns in what they claimed was self-defense after being attacked by the victims' group. Drug tests showed positive results for both suspects, leading to additional charges of possessing narcotics and firearms without a permit.
The father of one of the suspects, Big, expressed disbelief over his son's involvement, stating that he thought his son was simply attending the military selection process. He maintained that his son was generally well-behaved, but he acknowledged that he would accept the consequences if evidence proved his son's guilt.
The victim's mother, who had traveled with her son from Bangkok for the conscription process, expressed her grief and refusal to forgive the perpetrators. She called for the case to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and questioned why her son was targeted, emphasizing her desire for justice.
