Chinese Student’s Death and Stabbing of Thai Friend Under Urgent Investigation

Bangkok: Authorities are rushing to solve the case of a young Chinese man who fell from a building; a search of his hotel room revealed his female friend had been stabbed to death.

According to Thai News Agency, police are urgently investigating the death of a Chinese male student who fell from his dormitory room. A search of his room revealed the body of his Thai female friend, who had been stabbed to death, along with messages written in blood all over the walls. Initial investigations suggest the motive stemmed from a personal relationship.

A 30-year-old Chinese male student was found dead after falling from a dormitory near a well-known university in Pathum Thani province. His body showed signs of assault, including cuts on both wrists and a black tattoo of Roman numerals. Meanwhile, in his room, a Thai female student was found stabbed to death. A message written in blood was also found in the room. Today, Pol. Maj. Gen. Peerapol Chotikasetthian, Commander of the Pathum Thani Provincial Police, convened a meeting of relevant agencies and the Khlong Luang Police Station's investigative team to expedite the investigation.

Initial witness statements revealed that prior to the incident, in June 2025, the Chinese man rented a room while studying at a university. His Thai female friend was also studying at the same university. A timeline showed the male student in his room from approximately 5:00 PM on April 4th. His Thai friend arrived at the room at 8:40 PM. They both remained in the room and did not leave. At 2:00 AM on April 5th, the Chinese man went to the 9th floor. Witnesses saw him with a wound on his forehead. CCTV footage did not show any such wounds, but his body, which fell from the room, had injuries to both his left and right wrists. It is presumed that he had not yet harmed himself at the time he went up to the 9th floor around 2:00 AM on April 5th.

As for the female friend, she didn't notice any movement from the moment she arrived, until the body was discovered. Doctors revealed that the woman had more than 30 wounds on her body. Experts were invited to analyze the blood sample used to write the message in the hotel room.

The message written in blood inside the room consisted of several sentences in English, which could be translated as, "I have to go. I tried so hard. Understanding is more important than money." Officials photographed and collected the evidence for analysis by a specialist doctor, who would need to consider the emotional context of the situation at the time.

Police suspect the motive for the crime stemmed from a personal relationship. The investigation revealed that the two deceased had been close friends since early 2016, having been apart for a period. A more detailed investigation into their relationship will be conducted. Neighbors had previously heard the man making loud noises inside the room, but no one heard anything shortly before the incident. Authorities have not yet questioned the woman's parents as they are still grieving. There is also no indication that money was involved, as the woman's family has a stable business.

Following the incident, police notified the embassy to coordinate with the Chinese man's relatives to collect the body according to procedure. The motive for the crime appears to stem from a personal relationship, but the relationship had multiple aspects, requiring further investigation before a conclusion can be reached.
