Bangkok: Thai Airways has announced significant changes in its executive structure with the establishment of four new sub-boards. This move is aimed at enhancing operational engagement and boosting investor confidence.
According to Thai News Agency, the board of Thai Airways Public Company Limited (THAI) approved the appointment of new executives to various committees during its extraordinary meeting No. 1/2026 held on January 8, 2026. The newly formed sub-committees include the Executive, Audit, Nomination and Remuneration, and Risk Management and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) committees.
The Executive Committee will be chaired by Mr. Watchara Tantriyanon, with Mr. Yanon Phokhasap and Mr. Samrit Samniang serving as members. The Audit Committee, comprising independent directors, will be led by Mr. Yanyong Dechphiratanamongkol, with new members Ms. Charita Leelayuth and Mr. Polakorn Wangli. Ms. Leelayuth's expertise is expected to enhance the reliability of the financial statement reviews.
The Nomination and Remuneration Committee remains under the leadership of Dr. Kulaya Tantitemit, with the addition of Ms. Chananyarak Petcharat, Air Chief Marshal Amnat Jeeramanimay, and retaining Police General Dr. Thatchai Pitanilabutr. Similarly, the newly established Risk Management and ESG Committee will be chaired by Mr. Rapee Sujaritkul, alongside new members Ms. Chananyarak Petcharat, Dr. Wirathai Santiprabhob, and Mr. Chakri Bamrungwong.
Additionally, the board approved changes to the list of directors authorized to sign and bind the company. The updated authorization requires Mr. Chai Eiamsiri and Mr. Samrit Samniang to sign jointly and affix the company's seal, ensuring actions are binding under the company's Articles of Association.
These strategic appointments underscore Thai Airways' commitment to strengthening governance and operational efficiency.
