Sa kaeo: Thai and Cambodian citizens are forming long queues at the Klong Luek border crossing, awaiting their turn to cross back into their respective countries amidst ongoing tensions. Intermittent gunfire from clashes has been reported along the border in Sa Kaeo province, heightening the urgency for citizens eager to return home.
According to Thai News Agency, some Cambodian citizens remain at the crossing, patiently waiting to re-enter their country, while the Cambodian authorities are preparing to facilitate the return of Thai citizens. As the situation unfolds, more Thai citizens have started arriving at the border, joining the queue to cross back into Thailand.
The process of receiving and screening returning Thai citizens is being managed by the Immigration Police. They are categorizing individuals into three groups: those who left the country legally with valid documentation, those with expired border passes, and those who exited illegally. Moreover, returning citizens are being checked for any outstanding arrest warrants, and those found guilty will face prosecution.
