Bangkok: "Worawut and Ladamanee," two world champion boccia players, lead the Thai team in their quest for gold at the Asian Para Games. The Thai national boccia team is gearing up for the 5th Asian Para Games, scheduled to take place from October 18-24, 2026, in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and the Paralympic Committee of Thailand have been diligently preparing the athletes through a series of training camps and competitions, both locally and internationally.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai boccia team recently showcased their skills at the Seoul 2026 World Boccia Championships, held from August 27th to September 3rd, 2026, in Seoul, South Korea. The team achieved remarkable success, securing two gold medals with victories from Worawut Saengampa in the BC2 men's class and Ladamanee Kla-han in the BC3 women's class. Additionally, the team claimed two bronze medals through Wisanu Huadpradit in the BC1 men's class and Pornchok Lapayen in the BC4 men's class.

"Coach Bird" Seksan Charoensuk, the head coach of the Thai national boccia team, attributed the team's success to their dedication and consistent training regimen. He emphasized that winning the world championship has significantly boosted the confidence of the Thai boccia players. Upon their return from South Korea, the athletes will continue their rigorous training at the National Boccia Training Center within the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) in Hua Mak, as they prepare for the upcoming 5th Asian Para Games in October 2026.

The Thai national boccia coach expressed optimism, stating that both Worawut Saengampa and Ladamanee Kla-han, who emerged as world champions, will be pivotal in leading the Thai national team at the Asian Para Games. The team aims to secure 1-2 gold medals during the event, further enhancing Thailand's reputation in the sport.
