Bangkok: The Thai embassy in France has successfully sent overseas voting ballot papers, which have arrived in Thailand this morning. The Royal Thai Embassy in Paris facilitated the delivery of these ballots, thanking Thai nationals in France for their participation and inviting them to await the referendum results slated for February 8.

According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Embassy dispatched a total of 2,594 ballot envelopes packed in six diplomatic mail bags. These were handed over by Consul, Mr. Peerapol Peeranont, to Ms. Saowaluk Rungwattanchinda, Director of Election Management Division 1, Election Commission of Thailand, and her team at Charles de Gaulle International Airport. The ballots are scheduled to arrive in Thailand on February 5, 2026, at 6:00 AM.

In total, these 2,594 ballot envelopes represent 88.84% of the 2,920 registered voters. The Royal Thai Embassy expressed gratitude to the Thai citizens in France for their cooperation in exercising their voting rights and to the Thai associations and communities for their support in ensuring the ballots are returned to Thailand on schedule for the counting on February 8, 2026.

The Royal Thai Embassy will conduct the counting of overseas referendum votes on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at its premises, starting at 11:00 AM local time. The counting ceremony will be broadcast live on the Embassy's Facebook page.

For those who have not registered to vote or were unable to vote in this election and referendum, there is an option to inform the authorities of the reasons for their inability to participate in the election and referendum outside Thailand.
