Thai Honda is confident that 'Kong Somkiat' will recover in time to compete in the MotoGP in Thailand later this month after an accident during the Indonesia Grand Prix. Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, presided over the countdown of the MotoGP World Championship hosted by Thailand under the name of 'PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2024' during October 25-27 at Chang International Circuit, Buriram Province, with 24 days left to countdown. He also launched the 'ThaiGP trophy' for 2024 with the theme of 'Throne of the King of Speed' in a modern Thai style, combined with the beauty of 'Phanom Rung Stone Castle'. The center of the trophy has a wai symbol, while the material of the trophy has been modified to use 'motorcycle parts' as part of the trophy. Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, confirmed that MotoGP is the biggest world-class sporting event in Thailand, with more than 800 million viewers worldwide. It is an important opportunity to showcas e the potential of international sporting event standards by Thais and develop the Thai sports industry in all dimensions. The latest update on the injury of Kong Somkiat Chantra from Idemitsu Honda Team Asia who had an accident and injured his right leg while competing in the Moto2 class at the Indonesia Grand Prix last Sunday, most recently Mr. Arak Phornprapha, President of Thai Honda Co., Ltd. revealed that Kong will travel back to Thailand for a detailed examination.
