Thai Iced Tea Ranks 9th Among World’s Best Non-Alcoholic Beverages

Bangkok: Thai tea ranks 9th among the best non-alcoholic beverages in the world. "Thai Tea" from Thailand ranks 9th among the best non-alcoholic beverages worldwide.

According to Thai News Agency, TasteAtlas, a world-renowned food review website, has revealed its ranking of the best non-alcoholic beverages in the world, based on data collected from food critics and international food sources. Thai Iced Tea from Thailand ranked 9th globally with a score of 4.3.

The TasteAtlas website states that "authentic Thai iced tea" is a blend of strong black tea, condensed milk or evaporated milk, sugar, and spices, served with crushed ice. It typically uses Assam, Ceylon, or Keemun black teas, and some recipes may include tamarind, star anise, and cardamom. However, it's worth noting that modern Thai tea sold in many shops often uses pre-packaged tea with food coloring, resulting in an unnaturally bright orange color. Traditional Thai tea should have a deep amber color and is usually chilled before being mixed with ice. Thai tea is widely available at street stalls throughout Thailand, as well as in restaurants both domestically and internationally.

The top 10 non-alcoholic drinks in the world, as listed by TasteAtlas, include Lulada from Colombia, Aguas Frescas from Mexico, and Indian favorites like Mango Lassi and Chai Masala, among others.
