Bangkok: "Big Lek," a high-ranking Thai official, has voiced his opinion that the open letter from Cambodian senators, which referenced the Thai monarchy, was inappropriate. He emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already addressed the issue, and he believes the Thai public is well-informed about the situation.
According to Thai News Agency, General Natthaphol Nakpanich, the Minister of Defence, commented on the open letter from Cambodian senators, which contained criticisms of the Thai monarchy. In an interview, he was asked whether the Ministry of Defence had engaged in discussions with the Cambodian Defence Minister and ASEAN observers at the Airports of Thailand (AOT) concerning the letter. General Natthaphol stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had already issued a clarification, highlighting the inappropriateness of the content.
General Natthaphol further clarified that there was no need for the Ministry of Defence to take additional action, as the matter fell under the purview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. When questioned about the behavior of the Cambodian Senator, he confirmed it was inappropriate, stating, "Absolutely. I believe all Thais are aware of this. I will not say anything that would further emphasize the issue."
